Google Wave: Educational Tool
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Google wave invite through some connections and wanted to share some of my thoughts. Instead of writing a review on what wave does, I am writing about possible future wave applications that I believe will simplify our lives when it becomes more widespread.
Instead of wasting time explaining in detail what it does, I suggest you head over to wave.google.com and watch the hour long video. It provides a great overview of what wave can do.
The first question I get when I mention Google wave to people is, “What is it”? There is no easy way to explain exactly what it is; the best explanation that I can come up with is a collaborative work processing application. Similarly to many of other wave users, my first reaction to wave was “Great! Now what do I do”? My biggest issue is that this initial user group is so limited there just aren’t enough people to collaborate with, so my testing has been somewhat restrictive.
